On February 7 Otterbein launched a new children’s program to assist children in our community with their educational challenges, teach life skills and be able to share God’s word with them.

Each Thursday from 3:30 to 5:45 we spend time tutoring and assisting with their homework. Mari Purdy has developed personal education plans for each of the students. Then we move into life skills with hands on activities. Out last hour is spent in God’s word learning through the word how to live out our Christian faith. We close out our evening with a light supper.

As we move forward developing the Kids Academy look for the Summer to hold Camp Fire Vacation Bible School, special outings to experience God’s world firsthand, along with some Summer FUN!!

Fall of 2024 will move us into a day change of Wednesday’s but the same time of 3:30 to 5:45. Stay tuned to Otterbein web site and our Otterbein Kids Academy Facebook page for upcoming events and activities.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL / KIDS ACADEMY

Otterbein Methodist Church has a Vacation Bible School every summer. This year Bible School will be a Summer Day Camp every Wednesday during June.

Camp Firelight will begin on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 9:00a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Agape Family Center at 527 N. Maple. It will be every Wednesday the month of June.

Camp Firelight is a Summer Camp Adventure with God. It is based on Psalm 56:3: “Whenever I’m afraid, I put my trust in you.” It teaches us to trust God no matter what challenges we face in life. This program will teach us about people in the Bible who experience the gift of a trusting relationship with God. It will teach us to trust God to go with us, to lead the way, to share wisdom, to give us peace, and to spark joy as we celebrate the good news of our own lives and in the lives of others.

The dates for Camp Firelight VBS are June 5, 12, 19, 26, 2024.
